Susan Fern Larsen

Susan (“Sue”) Fern Larsen was born April 25, 1955, and suddenly passed at home on June 2, 2018.

Born and raised in Boise, Sue lived all of her life in Idaho. She was the third youngest of nine children.

Sue loved being at their cabin in Idaho City. She preferred the solitude of mountains over the craziness of the city. She enjoyed the sounds of nature, the flows of the river, the winds through the pines, and the flaps of the hummingbirds. She preferred rides on the four-wheeler through muddy trails and creeks or simply sitting on the porch watching the sunset. But she truly enjoyed nature when her kids and grandkids were able to enjoy it with her. Numerous camping trips above Idaho City to Atlanta were the most memorable.

For the past 15 years, Sue wanted to make the hike into the Shaffer Family Cabin. Last summer, with the help of Erica, Stacy, Shaun, Raymond, Deana, Chance and Sam, she was able to make that dream come true. Sue also loved traveling and most recently took trips to the Oregon coast and to Florida to visit Disney World and Daytona Beach with her kids and grandkids.

Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Eric; her three children Erica, Stacy and Shaun; and grandkids Chance, Morgan, Samantha and Caden. Sue was so incredibly proud of her kids and grandkids. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Onie, George, Johnny, Linda and Ray, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Ralph, mother Ethel and brothers Kenny, Gene and Frank.
