Terrie Ranae Gillenwater

Our beloved Mother passed away peacefully on June 22, 2021, at the age of 68.  

Terrie Ranae Heider Gillenwater was born on March 29, 1953, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was the the fourth child of Darrell Austin Heider and Marcella Rappleye.  She graduated from Twin Falls High School, and then attended Ricks College.

Around that time, she met Richard Britton Gillenwater; they married in the Salt Lake Temple on March 26, 1976.

Terrie continued to pursue her education.  Following Ricks, she attended BYU, where she earned a bachelors degree in Elementary Education.  Then she attended Idaho State University, earning a masters degree in Health Sciences.

The marriage of Terrie and Richard was blessed by five children.

Terrie taught school for 11 years.  Her life was also filled by serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a variety of callings, often ministering to the youth.  Above all, she loved sharing knowledge.  Her unconditional love reflected the love of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Britton Gillenwater; her children, Kathryn Renae Gillenwater, Megan Drew Gillenwater, Marcella Lorraine Gillenwater, Brian Cannon Gillenwater (Stephanie Waters) and Jon Britton Gillenwater (Morgan Udall), along with six precious grandchildren, her brothers and beloved sister: Darrell Lee Heider (Janice Hatfield), William Arthur Heider (Mary Mansfield) and Sherri Heider Wright (Stephen Wright).  Darlene Americanhorse Green (deceased) was her Cheyenne foster sister.  She is also survived by a large number of  wonderful nieces and nephews.
