Valera Packham Muir

Valera Packham Muir, 75, of Boise Idaho, passed away on March 31, 2022. Valera (Val) was born February 2, 1947, in Fairfield Idaho to her parents Edward Leroy Packham and Glenis (Pond) Packham. She attended her school years in Fairfield and graduated in 1965 from Camas County High School in Fairfield, Idaho.

Valera married Grant E. Muir in 1966 and they started their family. Val was an amazing and devoted mother to her three sons and is survived by: Grant Muir Jr., his wife Laura Muir, their children: Chamaigne Oviedo (her husband Michael Oviedo), Alex Muir, Pierce Muir, and Miguel Buxton. Duston Muir, his wife Jennifer and their children, Alexa Humpherys (her fiancé Bryan Green) and Garrett Muir. Lastly, her youngest son John Muir, his girlfriend Christine Harr and their daughter Hannah. Valera is also survived by her great grandchildren: Tryzhai, Takaiya and Taylen. Valera was preceded in death by her newborn, infant son Vasco Muir in 1975.

Valera was the center of her family and a member in good standing of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was her strength and the foundation of her life. Val also enjoyed making beautiful quilts, sewing, crocheting, watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, enjoying a good football game, and attending family functions where love, laughs and great meals were abundant.

There will be a graveside service to honor the life of Valera Muir on Friday, April 8th at Dry Creek Cemetery at 2:00pm. There will also be a late lunch following the service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Broadway Avenue in Boise Idaho.
