Mom was born Virginia Peters, youngest of 9, to a Presbyterian minister father and school teacher mother in Wesley, Iowa. At 16, she ventured out into the world to attend Business College in Waterloo, Iowa, following which she worked as a secretary until WWII, during which she enlisted in the Navy Waves and served 1½ years as a Pharmacists Mate Third Class. After her children were older, she returned to work as an executive secretary for Fairchild Semiconductor, from which she retired after 17 years of service. She was a loving wife to Arthur Kaupert, who predeceased her in 1972. Since then, she has devoted her life to her four children, Arthur Kaupert Jr., Peter Kaupert (KT), Ted Kaupert and Alison Ashworth (Jim), and her 19 grandchildren. Even though we know she is in a better place, her intelligence and quick wit will be missed by us all.
