Wavie was born on January 1, 1925 in Escalante, Utah to Wallace Napoleon Roundy and Ella May Griffin Roundy. She was the sixth child in a family of eight, five brothers and two sisters.
After graduation from high school, she went to Lynndyl, Utah to visit her brother. She obtained employment at a rooming house, cleaning rooms and making beds. It was there she met and married her sweetheart Ralph. They recently celebrated 70 years together.

She and Ralph lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho until two years ago when her failing health brought them to Boise, Idaho to be closer to family. Wavie loved her Savior deeply and tried to follow His example. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held numerous Ward and Stake callings, including Relief Society President for 12 years. She attended the temple regularly and developed lifelong friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and Friends Forever Club. She dearly loved the ladies in her club, who became her dear friends. Wavie worked as the lunch lady at Theresa Bunker Elementary School for 25 years. She and Ralph were known as the Swinging Sweethearts. She played piano, and Ralph played the 4-string banjo. Their grandson Brent often played the drums with them. Wavie was a great prankster and loved a good laugh. Everyone who knew her loved her.

Wavie is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband Ralph and their five children, whom she dearly loved: Wally (Lana), Kelly (Margo), Debbie (Mark), Bud (Judee), Connie (Don), 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, her brother Jerry, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
