Zehra Miljkovic

On Saturday, July 2, 2022, Zehra Miljkovic, loving wife and wonderful mother of two daughters, passed away at the age of 54 after a courageous battle against cancer.  

Zehra was born on February 16, 1968 in Novi Pazar, Yugoslavia to Ismet and Elmasa Torbic. She was raised in Novi Pazar and moved to Sarajevo in 1987 to study psychology at University of Sarajevo. In college, she met and fell in love with her future husband, Sead Miljkovic. They remained together for over 30 years. 

She had her first daughter, Ela, in 1991 while finishing her degree. Civil war uprooted the young family to the United States in 1996. They started a new life on West Jordan St. in Boise, Idaho and had a second daughter, Leila, in 1997. In 2009, she met Nicholas Gaudioso, Ela’s partner, and treated him like a son ever since.

Zehra called Boise home for 26 years. She loved taking walks with her daughters on the greenbelt and found comfort in gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband. She had an eye for fashion and loved helping her whole family keep up. She was a light in the lives of her family and friends and will remembered most dearly for her selflessness and thoughtfulness.  

Preceding her in death is her mother, Elmasa Torbic. She is survived by her husband, Sead; daughters Ela and Leila; father, Ismet, and two sisters, Zuhra and Aida. Her husband and daughters would like to extend their gratitude to friends and community for all the support they received in her time of need.

A service will begin at the Relyea Funeral Chapel at 318 N. Latah St. Boise, ID 83706 at 4pm, and then proceed across the street to Morris Hill Cemetery.
