Dorma A Meinburg

November 13, 1923 ~ January 20, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years Old
Dorma Andersen Meinburg, 93, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on January 20, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family.
Dorma was born November 13, 1923 in Tremonton, Utah, to her loving parents Andrew Fredrick & Elvira Ransom Andersen. Of 13 children, she was a middle child, growing up with a very large family. She enjoyed trying new things such as singing and painting. She was well liked and considered a nice girl and a good friend. Dorma graduated high school in Price, Utah, in 1942. She was back and forth from Idaho, Utah, California and Washington, for work and traveling to see her family and visiting back home. She enjoyed going to movies, dancing and other fun past times. In the early 1950's she met Robert James Meinburg, it took no time before they fell in love, got married & began their journey together. Dorma and Bob married on February 10th, 1956 in Spokane, WA. After traveling and moving around, they settled down in Boise, Idaho, where she raised their sons, in the house that she made a home.
Dorma was always busy taking care of her family, including her grandchildren as well as keeping up with housework and her lovely garden, of which she made many delicious meals. Dorma was a member of the LDS church and built friendships within her ward, which continued on throughout her life. She was a primary school teacher, den mother, and was the bookkeeper for Bob's Harley Shop. She was also very fond of art, the Opera, world history, autobiographies, photography, reading & traveling.
Dorma loved to travel, she went on many adventures with Bob, in their camper and on the back of his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. She absolutely loved the view of the river from their family cabin, as much as she loved the view of the large beautiful tree out front of their home, as it changed by the season & grew, over the last 55 years.
Dorma was many things throughout her life, a student, a teacher, a very hard worker, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a grandmother. She was a sister to many & a friend to all.
In her last years, Dorma liked sharing memories & stories of her life.
Dorma reunited with Bob, January 20, 2017, after 20 years apart & rode off on the back of his Harley, into the sun. She is now watching over us all, until we see her again.
Dorma is survived by 3 of her 12 siblings, Wanda, Floyd & Loyal. Her 4 sons, Jim, Joe, Dennis & Larry. Her 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
Dorma's funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1st at the Cherry Lane LDS Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and the Service will be shortly after, at 11:00am.
All who knew and loved Dorma are welcome to come and remember her life.
