Dad,

I will miss you dearly.

From early childhood memories of picking you up at the VA Hospital, after work, to the times you took me out pheasant or arrowhead hunting, to our reunion after you came back from living in Wisconsin for several years, I will miss you dearly.

From the times you would point at me, and say my name with a wink and smile, reaffirming my existence in this world. From the times you helped me out when I needed a part for my car, or opening your home when I was in need, I will miss you dearly.

From the years of remembering happy moments with you being happy on a porch, BBQ, or other social gathering surrounded by family and friends, from the happiness you received from finding a good buy at a yard sale, I will dearly miss you.

I dearly miss you. I cried when you passed away. I still cry today. Although I love you dearly, I couldn't make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me, he only takes the best...
