Sandy Ault passed away at home, Thursday, November 30, 2017.
Sandy was born the only child of Ben and Dolly Aylsworth on March 10, 1944 in Nampa. She was an excellent student and participated in the youth group at First Christian Church before graduating from Nampa High in 1962.
Sandy attended College of Idaho and majored in Elementary Ed. She enjoyed her freedom and friends and graduated in 1966. She taught for a short time near Gresham, OR and then returned to Boise to teach 4th and 5th grade at Washington Elementary until 1980.
While participating in a K-Group through Red Rock Christian Church, Sandy met Garry Ault in early 1974. They were married at Red Rock on November 30, 1974. After marrying, Garry and Sandy enjoyed the church, traveling, and spending time with family, including Garry’s daughters Susan, Kim, and Debbie.
In 1980, Garry and Sandy quit their jobs, bought All Makes Vacuum on Orchard, and welcomed their daughter Seanna. At the shop, Sandy did the books, delivered vacuums and telegrams, and encouraged good-will with Seanna in tow. Sandy had an intimate knowledge of the best way to get anywhere in Boise. They sold the shop and retired after 31 years.
The shop afforded Sandy the time to focus on parenting. Sandy led Girl Scouts, taught at VBS, ferried kids to rehearsals and practices, and hosted sleepless sleepovers with loud and silly girls. Sandy was also a Girl Scout Area Cookie Manager storing 1000 plus cases of cookies in the house for an afternoon. Seanna and friends loaded the cars and made girl scout cookie forts in Sandy’s living room between orders.
Sandy had been a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, was a 50+ year member in the Kuna Grange, and continued active membership at Red Rock until her death.
Sandy is survived by her husband Garry, their daughter Seanna Ault (Dylan Stark), all of Boise; step-daughters Susan Ault (Steve Wong) of Kirkland, WA, Kim Ault, and Debbie Williams (Andy) both of McMinnville, OR; grandchildren Devon and Tia Williams, and nephew Garry Clements (Maple Valley, WA).
A memorial service will take place at Red Rock Christian Church (1124 S Roosevelt, Boise) at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2017.
